Office Manager – This work involved all office functions including billing, scheduling, preparing bank deposits, payroll, ordering office supplies and balancing patient accounts, as well as evaluating the profits of the business on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. I also performed light bookkeeping in keeping track of expenses. Within six months of accepting this position and utilizing a better system for billing and collections, we doubled the profits from the five previous years. When I resigned, we had more than tripled income. I was also responsible for coordinating the schedules of the hygienists and dental assistant and all three reported directly to me. Computer files were maintained using PracticeWorks' SoftDent software.

The majority of the year dealt with assisting in the preparation of SEC filings, most notably 10Ks and 10Qs. I also performed legal and bank confirmations as part of the annual audit, as well as conducting an audit of the Long Term Disability Benefit Plan for one client.

I spent several years on the Diversity Committee in the Los Angeles office and published a monthly Diversity Newsletter, in addition to being a founding member and serving on the Leadership Committee of the Gay and Lesbian Employees (GALE).
